What is cursive text?

The cursive letters here (๐’ฎ๐’ธ๐“‡๐’พ๐“…๐“‰) come from the Mathematical Script characters in the Unicode standard. Because they are characters, not a font file, they keep their look when you paste them into apps that don't let you choose a font.

Script vs bold script

StyleLooks likeBest for
Script๐’ž๐“Š๐“‡๐“ˆ๐’พ๐“‹โ„ฏElegant names and soft, aesthetic bios
Bold script๐“’๐“พ๐“ป๐“ผ๐“ฒ๐“ฟ๐“ฎEasier to read on small screens and dark mode
Sparklesโœจ ๐“’๐“พ๐“ป๐“ผ๐“ฒ๐“ฟ๐“ฎ โœจA name or a single highlighted line

Regular script uses a few letters from an older Unicode block (like โ„ฌ, โ„ฐ and โ„ฏ), so it can look slightly uneven in some apps. If that bothers you, bold script is the most consistent option.

Where cursive text works

It works in Instagram and TikTok bios, captions and comments, YouTube descriptions, X posts, WhatsApp and most messaging apps. It does not work in usernames or anywhere that only accepts plain letters. For real handwriting in a design or a printed invitation, use an actual cursive font in your design app instead.

For tattoos and designs

Unicode cursive is great for previewing a phrase, but tattoo artists and print designers work with real font files, which have far more styles and joined letters.

Frequently asked questions

Is this cursive font generator free?

Yes. It is free, needs no signup and works on phone and desktop.

Can I copy and paste cursive text into Instagram?

Yes. Copy a cursive style here and paste it into your bio, name field, captions or comments.

Why don't the letters join up like real handwriting?

Unicode cursive characters are separate letters, so they don't connect. For joined handwriting you need a real cursive font in a design app.

Does cursive text work on every phone?

On almost all modern phones, yes. Very old devices may show boxes for some letters.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type leaves your device.
