How to use the Glitch Text Generator

  1. Type a short word or name.
  2. Copy the glitch style, or a gothic style for a darker look.
  3. Paste it into Discord, TikTok, Instagram or a message.

What is glitch (Zalgo) text?

Glitch text stacks combining marks above and below each letter, so the words look corrupted or haunted. It is often called Zalgo text, after an internet horror meme. The marks are Unicode characters, so the effect survives copy and paste.

Good uses (and when to skip it)

  • Horror, gaming and Halloween posts: a creepy title or channel name.
  • Memes and jokes: a "something went wrong" effect.
  • Short words only: long glitch text spills into lines above and below.
  • Skip it for names people must type: nobody can search or mention glitch text.

This generator uses a moderate, consistent amount of marks so the text stays readable-ish. Some apps strip combining marks or limit how many can stack, so the effect may look lighter after you paste it.

Accessibility warning

Screen readers handle glitch text badly and may read out every mark. Use it for decoration, never for important information.

Frequently asked questions

Is this glitch text generator free?

Yes. It is free, needs no signup and works on phone and desktop.

What is Zalgo text?

Text with many combining marks stacked on each letter so it looks glitched or creepy. It is plain Unicode, so it can be copied and pasted.

Does glitch text work on Discord and TikTok?

Yes in most places, though some apps reduce the number of marks shown.

Can glitch text break an app?

Moderate glitch text like this is safe. Extremely heavy Zalgo can overlap other content, which is why many apps limit it.

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type leaves your device.
