What makes a good TikTok bio?
A TikTok bio has one job: turn a curious viewer into a follower. Most people see it right after a video they liked, so in a few words it should answer two questions: who are you and what will I get if I follow?
TikTok bios are short. At the time of writing the limit is 80 characters, including spaces and emojis, so every bio this tool writes stays under it. That leaves room for one clear idea, not a list of everything you do.
A simple formula that works
| Part | What to write | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Who | Your niche or role in 2–4 words | Student chef |
| Value | What followers get | 20-min dinners under $10 |
| Proof or personality | A detail that makes you memorable | burnt toast survivor |
| Next step | What to do now (optional) | new recipe daily ↓ |
You won't fit all four into 80 characters every time. Pick the two or three that matter most for your account. A clear who + value beats a clever line that leaves people guessing.

Tips to make your bio work harder
- Match your videos. If someone follows for recipes and your bio says "lifestyle", the bio is wasting space. Say what you actually post.
- Use your keyword. Words like "recipes", "gym" or "Spanish" tell viewers what your page is about at a glance.
- Use emojis as signposts, not decoration. One or two emojis can replace words or point to your link.
- Add a posting rhythm if you have one: "new video every Tuesday" gives people a reason to come back.
- Update it. When your content changes, change your bio. It takes ten seconds.
Name, username and bio work together
Your name field can carry a keyword too (for example "Maya | Easy Recipes"), so the bio doesn't have to repeat it. Need a new handle? Try the Username Generator.
Should you add a link?
TikTok shows a website link field only on some accounts, depending on account type and eligibility. If you have it, point your bio to it with a short line ("free recipe list ↓"). If you don't, use your bio to send people to your other profiles by name instead.
